Application Tips: Putting Your Best Foot Forward

The first step in the recruitment process is for candidates to complete an Avue online application. Go to Find Jobs to view vacancies for which online applications are being accepted.

Candidates should carefully consider what is required of the position to which they are applying and then highlight their most relevant work experience.  General information regarding accomplishments, supervisory experience, internships, and special projects is very useful.

Candidates will stand out if they can also provide specifics, such as the number and type of employees supervised, the dollar amounts related to budgets, and timeframes for projects for which they have been responsible.

Candidates should thoroughly complete the application, proofread for errors and, most importantly, be truthful about the information submitted on the application.
